Scanning materials with RFID is much quicker. Patrons can check out a full stack of materials at once without having to find each bar code and then scan them separately. With faster check-ins, patrons will also see better turnaround times on hold items. For library staff, RFID will speed up item check-in and simplify inventory tracking. New equipment will include an inventory ‘wand’ that staff can use to quickly scan the stacks to find items.
