Volunteer @ Calvert Library
Marketing Volunteer
Purpose: To engage and inspire our community to take advantage of the outstanding collections, services, events and classes Calvert Library offers.
Location: All Calvert Library Branches, especially Prince Frederick
Hours Needed: Flexible hours, minimum of 30 hours commitment over the course of a year
Responsibilities may include:
- Calendar listings added to online community calendars
- Bloggers/Vloggers & Other Connectors/Influencers
- Get on our press release distribution list and share appropriate events with friends & fans
- Find influencers who will post about library events
- Facebook Friends
- Add our events to our Facebook site
- Add our slider images to Facebook events
- Share, comment, like our posts to develop more activity and extend reach of posts
- Create your own posts on your feed re: library events and services
- Follow community social media pages/groups and alert Public Relations Coordinator about posts related to Calvert Library.
- Instagram
- Share, comment, like our posts to develop more activity and extend reach of posts
- YouTube
- Share, comment, like our posts to develop more activity and extend reach of posts
- Follow Calvert Library page
- Flickr
- Help us tag and organize our photos
- Link to photos from FB or other social media
- Share, comment, like our posts to develop more activity and extend reach of posts
- Assist with targeted marketing for specific events (for instance, letting the photography groups around the county know we’re showing Salt of the Earth about famous photographer Sebastiao Salgado)
- Place library event flyers in specialized areas of county when applicable (ie. Dog book author coming, post at veterinarian offices.)
- Develop and implement other creative targeted marketing and publicity ideas.
Qualifications:
- Age 16 or older
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work independently
- Graphic design skills appreciated
- Social Media Skills appreciated
