Pamphlets from government agencies and non-profit organizations are accepted for public distribution as space allows.
Each Calvert Library location has a bulletin board for non-library organizations.
Informational posters and pamphlets may be displayed in the library under the following conditions:
Information/materials are welcome from:
- government agencies
- non-profit organizations
- non-profit organizations sponsoring events which are open to the public, whether the events are free or not
- businesses may post a business card (2 x 3 ½ “)
Information/materials that are not accepted:
- Political signs. A sign announcing an informational meeting to be held by a political candidate at a specific time and place, open to all, is acceptable. A sign encouraging the public to vote for a particular candidate is not.
- Announcements of events not open to the general public. This would include membership meetings of service organizations.
- Notices from anonymous groups or individuals. All material must be from a recognized organization or must include the name and telephone number or e-mail address of a contact person.
- Signs over 8 ½ x 11 inches
- Signs for events that are 3 or more months in the future
Material to be displayed is to be approved by library staff before posting.
All information that complies with this policy will be posted as space is available.
The bulletin board will be monitored by library staff. Outdated flyers and flyers displayed for 3 months will be removed. All business cards will be removed on the first day of the month.
The Branch Managers may make exceptions to this policy.
