The Chesa-Speaker is an online newspaper written by Tweens, for Tweens!
TOPICS include: Food (recipes or reviews); Local, National, or World News (presented in as unbiased a way as possible), Comics, Reviews (books, movies, etc), Inside Calvert County (local interest or events), Sports, Photography, Artwork…and more!
INVITE your friends to submit articles, too!
PEN NAMES are encouraged to protect your privacy. Please come up with your nom de plume (a fake name that can not be used to identify you). This paper will be published on the library social media so we will not allow personally identifiable information to be shared–if you choose not to use a pen name, only your first name will be published with your submission. Be creative!

AUDIENCE Keep in mind that your submissions will be shared with a general audience. Calvert Library reserves the right to make the final decision about publishing submissions that do not comply with our community standards.
TIMELINE The Chesa-Speaker is a monthly newszine. Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis.
RIGHTS Calvert Library has the right to publish your submission(s) in The Chesa-Speaker. You retain all rights to your original work.
